I took Shelly up to the huge metropolis of Fresno on Saturday to visit the Saroyan Theatre. (of William Saroyan fame, native of fresno) We try to insert a bit of the arts once in awhile into our otherwise mundane lives.
There we saw the traveling musical "Mama Mia" performed. If you like ABBA music this one is for you. (I can still see myself dancing to this music, or at the roller rink as a youth) It has lots of there greatest hits wound into a cute little story. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Although, due to the mature theme, I would not take the kids to see it. (young bride-to-be reads mom's diary and sends 3 invitations to 3 men who possibly could be her unkown father. Without telling her mother.) It is truly hilarious.
Good acting, good singing, good music, and a day out with the wife. Hard combination to beat.
(now that's a great blog title for a straight man!)

What a fun night! I have to say that after having 3 sisters and then a wife and 2 daughters you have earned your right to be crowned a "Queen". Welcome to the club!
Sounds like a great time.
Ahh, memories of the roller rink!
i have always wanted to see mama mia - and always missed it when it was in town.
i do so love abba.
I saw "Mama Mia" and enjoyed it - although I wanted to get up and dance around the aisles - ABBA music does that to me - I had never heard of it until Bonny began listening to it in the Lime House - and we mostly danced around the house when it was on!
Oh, how I love ABBA.
I have wanted to see Mamma Mia fro years now. It seems like it's always been wherever I'm not--in L.A. when I was in Utah, in Salt Lake when I was in L.A. We thought about seeing it in London but it was a little pricey plus it was a half hour into the show when we inquired about tickets. Guess I'll plan ahead next time!
