Spring has brought me such a nice surprise...

The Almonds are in full bloom here. You can tell the different varieties by the color of the blossom. Vast orchards of pink. Then the next one brilliant white.
There is actually a "Blossom Trail" that you can drive and see nothing but beautiful blossoms for hours on end.
I am a So Cal kid at heart, but I have grown to love the valley after all these years spent here. We truly grow everything here and feed the world with it.
And I get to be a small part of it.

WOW!

so beautiful!

I would LOVE to drive the blossom trail as well - how long does it last?

About 3 weeks.

The flowers or the trail?

The flowers.
During the summer you can drive it and buy any and every kind of stone fruit you want. The new Pluots are really good. Several varieties are too delicate to ship to stores so the growers just sell them at their roadside stands. It's great!

I was just kidding.

I tasted those plouts last summer at the Lodi street fair. I like them almost as much as the elephant hearts.

It makes me miss the central valley!
